The expansive, quiet Pier 62/63 - my favorite Seattle pier - was open today after almost four months of retrofitting. It's showing fresh scars - tire tracks, scrapes, and loose debris. The railing now rattles when the pier is hit by the wakes of bigger boats, it stood rock solid in the past.
