Kansas, North Carolina, Louisiana

Interesting idea from the Democratic Party on how they can solve the problem of the low rating held by the Democratic Party while capitalizing on the low rating held by the Republican Party.

Run with the Independent.

They’re doing this in the Kansas Senate race and the Alaska Governor race.

I theorize that the frivolous lawsuit brought against the Democratic Incumbent in Louisiana mostly serves the purpose of bringing the “out of step and Washingtonese” issue to the fore… the actual effect of the lawsuit itself is irrelevant.  Conspiratorially I wonder if it’s brought by the Koch Brothers or something.

I like North Carolina’s Republican Senate Candidate’s “Hagan is out of touch with” North Carolina on voter id laws.  Sure.  Especially if the voting pool is narrowed.

We see the Oregonian is on the “War on Marijuana Legalization” kick.  It’s editorial position is made crystal clear in its headlines.

I note I’m a little weary.  In a vacuum, I’d probably be opposed to this measure — wait for either a better legalization measure to pop up or decriminalization (fine tuned to some regulatory measures).  Duplicate Washington State’s experience of not really taking the drug off the black market, and put it in the hands of the OLCC?  I’d prefer not. As it is… the problem that defeat is seen as a win for the Oregonian’s Drug Warrior position, and the “Reefer Madness” that marks makes it a coin flip?
