Certificates of Live Births

Did you see that Barack Obama held a press conference on behalf of his Birth Certificate?  Actually it reminded me a bit of the Scott McClellan presser at the height of one of the “Bush deserted National Guard” moments — a testy Obama believing something better should be addressed.

Wait.  Wait.  Check this out.

Responding to the release of President Barack Obama’s birth certificate, Donald Trump ran a victory lap during an impromptu press conference in Portsmouth, N.H. Wednesday morning.

Trump, who had consistently called on Obama to release his full birth certificate, said he is “honored to play such a big role in hopefully getting rid of this issue. I am really proud. I am really honored. Now let’s get on to the issues.”

Trump criticized Obama, however, for not releasing his birth certificate sooner, as Trump did immediately when asked to.

And he said it is “amazing that all of a sudden” Obama’s birth certificate “materialized.”

Trump also said he would carefully review the document for authenticity.

That’s one way of putting it.  I’m sure Orly Taitz will examine it in full and declare it valid.

But she still has her suspicions. Specifically, Taitz thinks that the birth certificate should peg Obama’s race as “Negro” and not “African.”

“In those years … when they wrote race, they were writing ‘Negro’ not ‘African’,” Taitz says. “In those days nobody wrote African as a race, it just wasn’t one of the options. It sounds like it would be written today, in the age of political correctness, and not in 1961 when they wrote white or Asian or ‘Negro’.”

One way this was different than McClellan’s job for Bush during the “missing gap gate” — so, Obama provided a decent lecture on national priorities — and then split the joint as a media press shouted out “Petraeus!”  McClellan had to stand through the media.

President Barack Obama plans to name CIA Director Leon Panetta as the next secretary of defense and move Gen. David Petraeus, now running the war in Afghanistan, into the CIA chief’s job in a major shuffle of the nation’s national security leadership, administration and other sources said Wednesday.

This leads back to the Obama presser speech in some manner.  We can anticipate our shift of focus in Afghanistan now that Petraeus is moved into the CIA.  Covert.  More easy to ignore what our government is up to.
Back to focus on other matters, please.
