“people of good will disagree about whether America should have gone to war.”

Interesting platform plank. What would happen if every plank looked like that one?

people of good will disagree about whether Abortion should be legal or not.

Or…

people of good will disagree about the proper role of government.

That last one being the reason for political parties in the first place.

    I’m always amused when one party or the other declares, “That’s partisan politics!” Yes, that’s the point.

    I thought the idea was in a party platform take a position on various issues, and then include this “Open Tent” plank to suggest that says good people can deviate. But, then again half the Democrats voted yes on the Iraq War Resolution, half voted no, so you can’t get away from the blandness.

    Be wary of rampant bi-partisanship.
